Massey Services Acquires American Pest Control Management of Port Charlotte, FL.

Massey Services acquired American Pest Control Management in move to further bolster the Company’s presence on Florida’s Southwest coast. This is Massey’s first acquisition since the integration of the Sunair / Middleton transaction.

Based in Southwest Florida, American Pest Control Management has been providing services to more than 7,000 homes and businesses in counties from Tampa to Naples.

Black Pest Prevention Acquires Willard Termite & Pest Control

Black Pest Prevention acquired the assets of Willard Termite & Pest Control of Charleston, S.C. The Willard team will join Black Pest Prevention and continue to serve its customer base in the greater Charleston metro area. Steve Willard founded Willard Termite & Pest Control in the fall of 1976 at the age of 22.

In the pest control industry, business owners are often confronted with punitive, double taxation upon the sale of their businesses. One extremely effective solution is to allocate a portion of the purchase price to personal goodwill, as opposed to corporate goodwill. This allows the business seller to avoid the dreaded double tax on all or a portion of the purchase price and typically makes the acquirer no worse off, from a tax perspective.
